MAJ. GEN. JOHNNY SELLERS (rET.) 
Major General (Ret) Johnny M. Sellers Sr. is a native of Purvis Mississippi and was commissioned on 26 June 1987 as an armor officer through the Mississippi Military Academy Officer Candidate School.  Prior to receiving his commission, Major General Sellers was an enlisted Soldier the Mississippi Army National Guard and served as a combat engineer.  In 2009 he was assigned as the Deputy Commander of the 168th Engineer Brigade in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.  He graduated from Roger Williams University, with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, and from the United States Army War College, with an M.S. in Strategic Studies.  Major General Sellers retired following assignment as the Commander of the 168th Engineer Brigade headquartered in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
 
He is currently an owner and manager of the Sellers Chevrolet Dealership in Purvis, Mississippi, a member of the American Engineer Association, the National Guard Association of Mississippi, and the National Guard Association of the United States.
 
He served as a past Chairperson, Pine Burr Council, Boy Scouts of America, Lamar County, Mississippi, and is currently a Board Member of Trace Life Insurance, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3036 and the American Legion Post 0024.
 
Major General Sellers serves as co-founder and board member of Wounded Minutemen of Mississippi (WWM).  Founded in 2010 as a private, non-profit organization, WMM’s mission is to honor and empower wounded soldiers and airmen of Mississippi and provide assistance to those who have sacrificed much to defend our freedom.
