Q3 GIVING

DUBARD SCHOOL FOR LANGUAGE DISORDERS AT U.S.M.

Each quarter of the year, Rotary Club of Hattiesburg chooses a worthwhile cause to offer its service. For the third quarter or, Q3, of the year, we have chosen the DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi.
For 59 years, DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi has offered specialized services to individuals with severe language disorders. Unlike other similar programs across the country that may charge $25,000 to $75,000 a year in tuition for similar services, their enrollment program is a public school option provided at no cost to families—the only program of its kind in the Gulf South. Typical cost per year averages around $21,000 per child.

The Mississippi Department of Education only partially funds (75-85%) their full-time enrollment program, each year. In the 2012-13 school year, their funding only covered 57% of expenses. While other fundraising efforts help make up some of that loss, 30-40% of expenses must be covered by private donations from individuals like you.

This is where we can help!

There are many ways to give. First, if you would like to donate to our club, please reach out to any of our members or hit the "Contact" button in the menu above. Next, for Q3 (Jan/Feb/Mar) we are launching a t-shirt fundraiser with all proceeds going to the DuBard School. Click the button below to choose from one of three custom Rotary t-shirts.
