OUR GUEST TODAY

LUCRETIA HALL • FGH HOSPICE & ASBURY HOUSE

Lucretia Hall is the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator for Forrest General Hospice & Asbury Hospice House.  After a successful career at the University of Southern Mississippi, she retired in 2005 with twenty-five years of service.

Lucretia began work in 2006 at Forrest General and before coming to Hospice was the Volunteer Coordinator for the main hospital, the Cancer Center, and Pine Grove.  She processed volunteers who provide support to 30 non-clinical departments and 16 patient care units and directly oversaw daily operations for those in the main hospital.  Lucretia also played a large role in developing and implementing a Patient Rounding and ER Care Partner Program for mostly Pre-Med and Nursing students to serve patients and improve patient care and satisfaction.

With her desire to continue being involved with volunteers and play a vital role in caring for people, she joined the Forrest General Hospice team as the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator in March 2019.  She recruits and processes volunteers to become a part of a special team devoted to caring for the terminally ill and their caregivers.  She trains volunteers in the hospice philosophy, goals, and areas of care they serve and collaborates with community organizations who generously donate items to our Hospice patients in need.

Steven asked members to participate in our Meals on Wheel Community Service project by signing up to deliver meals on Thursday. He also asked for a show of hands of people interested in participating in the Salvation Army’s bell-ringing project this year. Our club is assigned December 21 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. We’ll work in two-hour shifts in front of Corner Market in Midtown.
