On September 15: Sheriff Danny Rigel
Sheriff Danny Rigel is a native of Biloxi, MS. After finishing MGCCC and USM, he began his law enforcement career in 1982 as a patrolman with the Hattiesburg Police Department. He was promoted to Detective and was promoted to Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain while assigned to the Detective Division where he served as Chief of Detectives for three years. He formulated and commanded the Metro Crime Scene Unit for three years. This unit worked all of the major crime scenes in Forrest, Lamar, and Perry Counties and is still in existence today. He was promoted to Major of Operations and served there until his retirement in 2002. He was awarded Law Enforcement Officer of the year four separate times.

MINUTES: September 8, 2020
President Mark Killingsworth presided over today’s meeting. Ryan Kelly provided the invocation and Gene Owens provided the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was held at the Holiday Inn North.  
Joe Bost thanked those who helped with today’s meeting. Will Sanders introduced his guest, Matt Rumph. Matt is the Executive Director of the YMCA and he’s interested in joining our club.

SEPTEMBER 22: James Moore
 
 
James Moore is a graduate of USM who taught elementary music in Texas public schools for 6 years before returning home in 1984 to open Moore’s Bicycle Shop. James participated in the early development stages of the Longleaf Trace and also served as Alderman for the City of Petal 2005-2009. 
James joins us today to share the story behind the loss of his son, Jeffrey, the misinformation and stigma that often accompany addiction, and the fund created in his name at the PineBelt Foundation.
