REP. MISSY MCGEE, DISTRICT 102

Whether as volunteer in any number of community organizations, administrator in her family’s business or instructor at Southern Miss, there are usually a few specific words and phrases used to describe Missy McGee. These include “doer,” “servant leader” and the “one you call when you want to get something done.”

Missy Warren McGee was born, raised and spent nearly her entire life in Hattiesburg. The only years she lived elsewhere were the three that she spent in Washington D.C. serving as a Legislative Assistant to Senator Trent Lott. She’s a product of the Hattiesburg Public School District and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her bachelor of science and master of arts degrees in speech communication. She’s also been an instructor at Southern Miss in speech communication.

Missy has been actively involved in the community for decades. Some of her many achievements and contributions include:

  • Southern Miss Alumni Association
  • Hattiesburg Dog Park, Board of Directors
  • Leadership Pinebelt
  • Hattiesburg Junior Auxiliary
  • Hattiesburg Dixie Youth Baseball
  • Forrest General Hospital Foundation
  • Recipient of Southern Miss Alumni Association’s Outstanding Service Award

Missy is married to Sean McGee, they have two sons: Patrick, 19, and Jackson, 16.
The are active members of Main Street United Methodist Church.
