MARTIN HANKINS, LAMAR CO. CIRCUIT CLERK

Martin is currently serving as Lamar County Circuit Clerk. He was elected in November of 2015 and began serving in January of 2016. He previously served as Alderman at-large in the City of Purvis from March of 2014 through January of 2016. While serving as Alderman he worked as an Investment/Insurance Advisor with his father who has been in practice for 39 years. Martin grew up in Lamar County and later graduated from Hattiesburg High School. He then continued his career to Southeastern Louisiana University where he played football. After two years, he transferred to the University of Memphis where he played two seasons and later received his degree in Business Communications. Martin is currently a member of the Mississippi Association of Circuit Clerks, Lions Club International of Sumrall and the Exchange Club of Hattiesburg.
 
Martin began his officiating career in 2010. He began officiating in the Hattiesburg Officials Association. Over the course of his officiating career he has officiated in the Premier South Football League (Semi Pro), Southern Athletic Association (D3), Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges, Gulf South Conference (D2), Conference USA (D1), Sun Belt Conference (D1) and Southeastern Conference (D1). He is currently an active member of the Southeastern Conference Officials Association, Sun Belt Officials Association, Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges Officials Association, Hattiesburg Officials Association, College Football Officials and National Association of Sports Officials.
