Katie Sims is a junior at William Carey University, where she majors in Business Administration and minors in music. Along with her studies, she has been a Resident Assistant for Carey Housing.Katie is currently in Spirit of Carey and Carey Chorale. She has been in the Carey Company show choir and accompanied Grace Notes and Tuscan Reeds. Katie has played piano for nine years and has received a Superior rating from the National Federation of Music Clubs. She is on the President's and Dean's Lists at Carey. Katie is currently Miss William Carey University 2015 and will be competing in the Miss Mississippi Pageant this summer in Vicksburg. As Miss William Carey, she is promoting her platform "Freedom from Financial Foes," which is designed to teach young people how to handle their personal finances. The ultimate goal is to provide Personal Finance as a core class in high schools and colleges. Katie resides in Purvis, Mississippi with her parents, Allen and Karen Sims, and her brother, Cody Sims.
