WHAT IS KRAV MAGA?
Krav Maga (pronounced KRAHV muhGAH), which means “contact or close combat” in Hebrew, was originally developed in the 1940's for the Israeli Defense Forces as a combat system that could be learned quickly and used effectively by anyone. It was developed in a hostile environment that did not allow for hours and hours of combat training. It needed to be simple but aggressive, easy-to-learn and easy-to-remember. The System is reality-based, built on simple principles and instinctive movements. It is designed to teach real self-defense in the shortest possible time. Learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, and holds, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. Just as important, we teach people to function during the stress and shock of a sudden, violent encounter. The key point being; Krav Maga is simple and effective.
