President Mark Killingsworth presided over today’s meeting. A.D. Hunt provided the opening prayer. Joe Meador led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was held at the Holiday Inn North and on Zoom.

Joe Bost thanked those who helped with today’s meeting.

Mark then introduced his grandson, Jayden, who is visiting today.

Mark then introduced today’s guest speaker, Colleen Munkel. Colleen is the Director of Business Development for Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services.  Pine Grove is affiliated with Forrest Health and Forrest General Hospital.

Pine Grove was founded in 1984 and has been recognized for its services and programs both nationally and internationally. In addition to their facilities in the Hattiesburg Area, they also offer out-service centers across the state.

Their main campus is located on Broadway Drive here in Hattiesburg. This facility offers inpatient as well as outpatient services. There are currently three inpatient units located at the main campus. Most inpatient programs require an average of a seven day stay. One of the inpatient programs is a detox services program.

The Lincoln Center located on Lincoln Road is where the majority of Pine Grove’s outpatient care is offered. They occupy the entire second floor of that Center.

Pine Grove offers a variety of specialty programs. One that Colleen noted is their Professional Enhancement Program. This program is offered to licensed professionals who may need counseling or other specific needs. Another specialty program is their Alumni program. Colleen says treatments do not end when you leave Pine Grove. They remain in communication and offer continued support through the Alumni program.

Pine Grove also offers a climbing wall, a medicine wheel and a ropes challenge course. These services are available to patients but are also available to other organizations throughout the city.

Pine Grove operates 24 hours a day seven days a week. Their doors never close, even during the pandemic. Patients are tested for Covid or proof of covid vaccinations. They are also offered telehealth visits. Because Pine Grove is affiliated with Forrest General Hospital, they can offer any medical treatments that a patient may require.

To lean more about Pine Grove or if you need their assistance call 1-888-574-4633. The line is answered by trained professionals 24 hours a day. You can call Colleen at 601-288-4834 or email her at cmunkel@forrestgeneral.com.

Mark reported that the club was able to find hand sanitizer locally and a load was delivered to Jackson earlier this week. He noted how grateful they were. They had been out of sanitizer for two days. Matt Rump noted that the YMCA is a drop-off point in Hattiesburg for anyone who wishes to donate water for Jackson.

There being no further business to come before the club, Mark adjourned the meeting with our motto: “Service Above Self.”
