Akwete Muhammad is responsible for outreach to the broader community, recruiting volunteers, assists in grant writing,  project manager for fundraising events, and is responsible for press releases and maintaining a constant social media presence for Habitat for Humanity. She also assists Pine Belt Habitat in offering families, sustainable and affordable housing solutions throughout the Pine Belt Area.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to building homes for those in the community who need housing the most. Their mission is to make sure everyone in the Pine Belt has a decent place to live.
Habitat’s mission is also to empower families with a life-changing opportunity to own a decent house they can call home.  Every family deserves to own a home that is both clean and affordable, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Pine Belt Habitat's greatest mission is to provide families with sustainable housing, while ensuring they reach homeownership status.

Habitat for Humanity today operates around the globe and has helped build, renovate and repair more than 600,000 decent, affordable houses sheltering more than 3 million people worldwide.
Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
