Homes of Hope for Children

Dr. Garrett started Homes of Hope for Children over 14 years ago. As a child, Michael was blessed along with his two sisters to live and grow up at the Baptist Children’s home in Louisiana. God used that ministry to change the direction of his life and now he is back serving in the ministry that first served him.

In the summer of 2006, he came to South Mississippi with the passion and vision to build a children’s home ministry that would serve the needs of hurting children in South Mississippi. In just four years, the ministry grew from a vision to a reality. Homes of Hope for Children is a debt-free ministry with a 42-acre campus. Currently, the ministry has four cottages that can serve 28 children, and two transitional duplexes that can serve up to 12 young adults once they graduate from high school on our campus.

Dr. Garrett has been happily married to his wife Julie for 18 years. They have a 15-year old son named Caleb and an 11-year old daughter named Kelly Rose.
