Steven Utroska presided over today’s meeting. Gene Owens provided the invocation. Joe Meador led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Steven Utroska and Steve Ramp served as our greeters today.
Mike McPhail introduced our visitors. Lachel Story is a prospective member and Mike Freeman is a guest of Gene Owens. Steven asked people to volunteer to assist with the Meals on Wheels program. Volunteers are needed for this week.
Steven Utroska was today's guest speaker.  His primary trade is an engineer working in private practice and government-industry while also providing private consulting. Since he has always loved to go target shooting, owning different guns and hunt, it was an easy decision to start a business in this industry. Windlass Armory, LLC.  is a “Class 3” firearm manufacturer.  He makes AR15 and AR10 style firearms and sells various other firearms with accessories such as suppressors.
One of the favorite guns he owns is a 1921 Remington model 11 shotgun.  This is the same style Bonnie Parker used. She, of course, was a part of the famous Bonnie and Clyde gang.
Steven explained that to purchase a firearm, federal law requires background checks and he is required to keep this information for 20 years.
As a federal firearms licensee, you’re likely to get audited by the ATF at some point. The Gun Control Act permits inspections that are at least twelve months apart, but truthfully, they only happen every few years.
The job of the ATF is to ensure that the firearms industry is generally complying with firearms statutes. The investigators are looking for errors and discrepancies in your paperwork.
If the errors are deemed accidental, they won’t harass you too much. If they feel the errors are willful violations, you may end up in hot water.
He has already been audited and it was one of the worst experiences he has ever had.  Although he had no fines or violations, the stress was unbelievable.
With no other business, Steven then adjourned the meeting with our motto, Service Above Self.
