Amanda Kirk serves as Behavior Analyst I for Canopy Children’s Solutions working in the School Consultation Program with Autism Solutions in Hattiesburg. She works with students, ages 5-21, with autism and various communication and developmental delays to prepare them to return to a traditional education setting at their public schools. Amanda also assists in classroom management for special education teachers at CARES School Hattiesburg and in various school districts in Southeast Mississippi. Amanda graduated with her MA in Behavior Analysis from Ball State University and is currently working on her Doctorate in Behavior Analysis from Capella University.

Before her pursuits in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Amanda attained her bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Mississippi University for Women. She completed her music therapy internship at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans in 2008. Amanda received her national accreditation as a BCBA in December 2021. Amanda’s research interests include the PEAK Relational Training Program, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Informed Behavior Analysis.

Amanda serves on the Executive Council as the Region 3 Representative for the Behavior Analysis Association of Mississippi (BAAMS). Amanda is a native of Sumrall, Mississippi. She and her husband, Brandon, are current residents of Purvis, Mississippi. Amanda enjoys creating music, finding seashells on the beach with her young son, and playing games with her family.
